Flights

Having booked your holiday at Villa Mooli, it is now important that you book you flight tickets as soon as possible. The nearest airport to Altinkum is Bodrum - Milas Airport, which is about 1hr 15mins drive away. Below is some information we hope you will find useful regarding finding and booking flights to Turkey.

Charter Flights: The cheapest flight option from the UK to Bodrum - Milas is by charter flight. The cost of flight tickets vary depending on the time of travel, and can range from about £100.00 to over £300.00 The cost of travelling increases over school holidays and Bank Holidays.

However, if you are prepared to be flexible then you can get some really good deals that are considerably cheaper than these averages. Charter flights usually charge extra (generally £10 per person) if you require a meal. However, you can take your own food and drink onto the flight. If you require a meal remember to ask when booking the flight.

As the Aegean coast is growing in popularity there are now more flights to Bodrum than in previous years.

As of the end of April there is a much wider choice of flights with the majority of airlines flying out on a Monday from most UK airports. Therefore we cater for a changeover of guests on Mondays.

Other flights continue on other days of the week, and we will try to cater for each individual party's needs with regards to flights, particularly if out of season.

You could also fly to Izmir, which is about 2 hours away from Altinkum (transfers are still included in the villa price). There are only scheduled flights to Izmir and only one airline goes direct from the UK to Izmir - Cyprus Turkish Airlines. These fly from Heathrow only and go on every Monday and Saturday. Cyprus Turish Airlines travel all year round.

The average flight time is between 3.5 hours to four hours.

The luggage allowance per person on charter flights is usually 20kg. They tend to be very strict on this. As a general rule they will allow extra weight where possible but will charge you for this. The usual charge is £4 per extra kilogramme. Hand luggage must be no more than 5kg.

Scheduled airlines tend to be 25kg per person but are usually more lenient if over this weight.

Bodrum and Izmir Airports

The airports are modern and clean - as are the toilets! But here is a warning - do not buy any duty free cigarettes, alcohol or perfume at the airport as it is much cheaper in the resort. It is also very expensive to buy a drink from one of the airport bars. A cold drink can cost up to £3.00 a can!!!!

Transfers

As mentioned previously, the nearest airport to Altinkum is Bodrum - Milas Airport, which is about 1hr 15mins drive away. If you are not renting a car then we will arrange the transfer for you. This cost is included in the villa price.

Car Hire

If you want to hire a car for the duration of your holiday then it is best to arrange it prior to your stay at Villa Mooli. Prices start from £20 per day depending on the time of year, duration of use and type of vehicle. Not all cars have air-conditioning so don't forget to ask for it if you want it.

However there are some local agencies in Altinkum that also hire cars. We can help you to arrange this if you wish.

Holiday Insurance

It is a pre - requisite of all bookings made for Villa Mooli, that everybody in the party has adequate holiday insurance.

This insurance should cover you for the following events, as a minimum:

Cancellation or early departure of holiday
Theft or loss of personal belongings
Flight connections - missed or delayed
Accidents to 3^rd parties
Illness and injury

You can get very good rates for insurance by shopping around on the Internet. If not, try the larger supermarkets or your local post office.
